Phase III Combo-unit

The heat load is high, planning on the 140K to 165K unit. The DHW should not be very high but according to the Delta Elite performance data I was told I would NOT run out of Hot water.
As far as the space is concerned although it is a small area, if I did put the Delta Elite in that space 2 of the 4 walls are removable . Plus it space has a 10 ceiling.
IF YOUR HEAT LOAD IS OVER 100K AND YOU NEED LOTS OF HW, I'D LOOK TO GET A SMALL BOILER WITH A SEPERATE INDIRECT. Do you have any suggestions? Recommendations?
I looked at the OILTECH website and read about the Energy Kinetics System 2000. Any Comments?

Phase III Comb unit
I am having a heating system designed for my existing home The Contractor has suggested the Phase 3 Combo unit because the space limitations of the place I requested it be installed (27 X 45). The supplier is coming to the house to do the heat load calcs to ensure it is properly sized. (I think that is awesome) The Heating will be mixed with Unico Hydro air, Baseboard and a Modine unit for the garage.
Has anyone actually installed/or even seen one of these units? I read a thread by Joe Brix that they were expensive and although Im not made of money.. if its the right unit for my house I want to get it Are they worth the dough? How do they compare in price to a Viessmann or a Buderus? With the additional cost of a WH?
I would rather change the place where it is to be installed if separating the boiler and water heater is a better option. Any thoughts or advice would be great

Sure hope there's enough room to service it properly. 27X45 sounds like a job for Ron Jr.!0 -

DOn't make it too tight. I think boiler return is on the back bottom of the unit. Make sure you can get back there to pipe it. Also watch the hight. Smaller unit starts at 5ft. Do you have clearence to vent? You only get a 1" supply/return. I only look at combo's when there a small heat load. No combo will give you great amounts of HW and heat at the same time. If your heat load is over 100K and you need lots of HW, I'd look to get a small boiler with a seperate indirect.0 -

you need a certified dealer to put one in. You need top flue or can a scotch marine design rear flue work for you?
I would prefer a Biasi, since it's not as deep as a buderus or a Bernham MPO. Crown freeport would fit. Problem with the scotch marine designs is all the piping is off the rear of the boiler. Laars Max and Burnham LE are small steel boilers you might want to look at if you need top flue venting. All of these models have direct vent options. The indirect would have to go somewhere else.0
