I want to know what a good flame in a boiler or hwh is. Examples:

Weil Mclain 3-section- where should the flame look like and where should the flame tips be
American standard with square box chamber how should the flame be in that unit
Bock 32gal. Hwh how should that flame look.
Light soot in the boiler and smoke pipe means too rich or too lean.

    flame????

don't even think about adjusting the flame. From the way you phrase your questions, (no offense ) you aren't in the business, right? You simply can't adjust a flame by eye. It takes special instruments to do the job safely and correctly. Your health and safety are in jeopardy if you attempt to do this work yourself without the proper tools and experience. Hire a pro for this work...he can change that flo check at the same time.
