NFPA CODE
Does anyone know of a code regarding the checking of the limit controls of a boiler or furnace during a service call or maintenance in the NFPA0 -
NFPA
31 has no requirement other than access be provided for maintenance and manufacturers maintenance instuctions be left after install. NFPA 31 states wiring must be to NFPA 70 standards so it might be in there.NFPA 54 might have requirements for gas burning appliances

Keep in mind
That unless incorporated in your true code by reference, NFPA is a referenced standard. In itself it is not a code unless so referenced. Good practice to be sure and may be an insurance requirement, but not necessarily "code".
