CO Detector and Alarm setting
Went to a new customer this morning for an annual tune-up. Found an old Heil in the basement. The first thing I checked for was the blown HX. It was, severely. I showed it to the HO and she told me that it was her worst fear. She had a CO Detector that was recommended to her. On the back it stated that it would alarm after 90 minutes of 100ppm. Why bother even make these things???
ps furnace was shut down and disabled. will be replaced later this summer (when things slow down!!!!!)

Why they sell those things
Good question.
If you want to know what got UL 2034 started, go here.
I spoke with a young couple today that have a 9 mos. old baby (biggest brown eyes!)and I talked to them about their UL listed CO alarm. They are getting a new low level unit.
If any of you are going to ISH in Chicago this year, be sure to attend one of the CO seminars. You won't be sorry.
