Heating Edge to be part of the Canadian Hydronics Council

Toronto, ON – May 31, 2006– The Canadian Hydronics Council (CHC) a Council within the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating is picking up the torch to continue the Heating Edge brand begun by the Hydronics Marketing Group (HMG). With the dissolution of HMG, a hot-water heating industry organization, as of May 31, 2006, this move sees a consolidation of industry organizations.

“While the end of HMG marks a sad point in our history, we are all excited about the CHC’s commitment to continuing our work in promoting this industry through the Heating Edge brand,” said Dominic DeBellis, a Founding member of the Hydronics Marketing Group and Canadian Sales Manager for Runtal Radiators.

Over the past 11 years, HMG has made significant strides in the promotion of hydronics across Canada with over 10 million readers of newspaper articles, distribution of thousands of promotional brochures and materials, and the creation of a leading-edge web site that offered information and resources to both customers and industry members.

“CHC is delighted to pick up the excellent work of HMG and continue to carry this important function moving forward,” said Ralph Suppa, President and General Manager of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating. “A strong foundation has been laid on which we are excited to build greater awareness of this home comfort option across the country.”

The Great Lakes Hydronics Conference will continue to operate independent from the Heating Edge brand, with leadership from industry members and volunteers. The next conference is scheduled for Spring 2007.

The Canadian Hydronics Council (CHC), founded in 1964, is a council within the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating. Its mission is to promote the responsible growth and contribute to the prosperity of the members and their customers in the hydronic heating industry.
