And I just saw Floyd in an episode of Peter Gunn. He played a murderer!

    Vote for your favorite

These summer nights remind me of Mayberry. You can vote for your favorite episode and see results at http://tagsrwc.com/favoritepoll/FavoriteEpisodeVoting.html.

My favorite is number two -- "Man in a Hurry." I bet most folks can pick number one without looking. I did. You too?

    love em all

the first one where Aunt Bea comes is of course great, so is the one where Opie kills the mother bird with his slinshot and of course Mr McBeavie. How about the one where Barnie buys craft projects for the prisoners, and they use them to break out of jail.

    sure you all know

Don Knotts was on that show for five years, and won five straight emmy's as Barnie

    Floyd

Floyd was priceless. Every episode with him, including the three escaped female prisoners, and when he signed on as a deputy sheriff, were outstanding.

    I couldnt remember a one

until you all mentioned them. Priceless show. I saw an interview with Ron Howard where he remembers a time when he was acting out on the set, and being a bit if a brat. His Father who attended every taping saw what was going on and turned Opie over his knee and gave him a spanking in front of everyone. Embarassed and still sniffing from the spanking, and lining up to do the next scene Ron said Andy Griffith leaned over and whispered in his ear, "You sure deserved that." LOL. Sure not like the prima donna behavior tolerated today. :) WW

Did you know that midway during the series Floyd (Howard McNear) suffered a stroke that left him sitting in the later episodes instead of standing?

  • Did you know?

that the father in the Darlings episodes was "Denver Pyle" or "Uncle Jesse" in the Dukes of Hazard?
