I have had the pleasure of knowing Ted for many years, as a customer, friend and colleague on the RPA board. Ted has done much to better this industry and continues to do so through the company that employs him and the trade associations he serves.
Ted has the inner strength and character of a warrior and he will beat this disease. My thoughts and prayers are with Ted and his family. Here's to a speedy recovery! -Dan Foley

You can make a difference...
Every now and again, I'm personally affected by someone in this industry who makes a difference - sometimes by just being themselves, which is a rare gift to be cherished. On a very few occasions, the actions of an indivdual have a universaly positive affect on others or an entire industry. In even rarer circumstances, their actions are selfless without a moment's thought to grandstanding - the mark of a true industry icon.
Here's a chance to move that forward and make a difference in the lives of future wet heads.

Ted Lowe
Is a real gentleman and a huge asset to our industry. I hope he realizes the impact he has had on so many of us. Thank You Ted!0 -
I am saddened
at the lack of response to this.
Ted Lowe was president of the RPA for quite some time. Are there no RPA people here?
Couldn't the current president have made some public gesture?
I know that when Darin Cook, my best friend, lost his father, the words of sympathy posted here helped him through a terrible time. He even showed the posts to his Mom and sisters. They were also deeply moved at the outpouring of sympathy.
Wouldn't it be nice if Ted Lowe could see 300 posts of encouragement here?????
I would apologize for sounding a bit miffed here if I were actually sorry. Fact is..I am not. What I am sorry about is that one of our own is in need and the silence is deafening.
Dave Yates is a saint among men. He started this thread because he cares about Ted Lowe.
All it takes are a few typed words of encouragement here. No money, just a kind word or a prayer.
How about it Wall?

God Speed!!
We all know someone who is fighting the battle, so I can tell you here that I wish Mr. Lowe -God speed and a fast recovery. Cancer research is really on a good track. I will keep your friend in my prayers. Lance Armstrong is a great example in the fight. I know your friend is in Gods eye because good people always are.
God Bless...Mr. Lowe and his family.
Very Respectfully,
Richard Fox0 -
Thanks Richard
And all of those blessings will be paid back to you and yours.

Ted
Ted is a good man whom I have met on several occasions, the last being at the Radfest in Denver this Spring. He always has time to chat and as a journalist, it is much appreciated. If you're reading this Ted, keep fighting the good fight and know that so many have conquered it by determination and on the wings of prayer. The Hall family is praying for you.0 -

Customer and competitor
I've had the pleasure of knowing Ted for about 12 years now -- first as a customer, then a competitor, and then as a colleague on the RPA board of directors. Ted's one of those guys that when he speaks, you listen. He's also one of those rare men who bases his views on fact, experience and learning, and that's a rare commodity in this or any business. Not only that, he's funny as hell!
All Ted's friends/fans here in Minnesota (and he has plenty!) wish him all the best for a speedy recovery. And please make sure to donate to the Ted Lowe fund. It's a good thing and it honors a good guy.

Ted spoke as highly of you as you did of him.
Thanks John!

I second
Scott Milne's thoughts and words.
I am sorry I have yet to have the privledge of meeting this man. By the testimony of what's been written so far, I may have to reconsider joining the RPA; something I have shunned because of relatively minor issues I had from their inception and formation agenda - which through efforts of people like Ted, has now been transformed from a marketing vehicle for manufacturers, to a truly representative standards and spokesgroup for all involved in this re-juvinated heating form.
Even though we have never met Ted, I know you by your work. Thanks for helping transform things at RPA to the level now evident.

I have heard so many good things about Ted
I have not had the priviledge of meeting him yet. But I wish to offer some words of encouragement to Ted. There is alot more life for you to live sir and much more work to be done in our industry. I also offer a prayer of strength to you and your family. Get well soon!!!

I haven't ever met Mr. Lowe...
but I know facing that monster disease is very hard, but you can beat it with proper medical treatment, a positive attitude and strong faith. Mad Dog's Mom is a prime example. My mother-in-law outlasted the Doctor's predictions by many years. My Mom & Dad both fought it hard, Mom beat it back 3 times. Get the treatments, keep your chin up and follow your religious faith. There will be good and bad days, but you will prevail.0 -
Ted Lowe Fund and his fight.
I've known Ted since first being introduced to the RPA. I've known him first as the RPA's President and later as a friend having visited with him, his beautiful wife and his brother Eric on the Vineyard a few times.
I think that it will be Ted's love of life and passion for education and work that will help him kill off this Cancer and keep his spirits high through the weeks of tough radiation & chemotherapy ahead. I've found that a little bit of prayer goes a long way in this life and he's been in ours since we first learned about Ted's battle with the BIG C.
I'd like to thank Larry Drake for having the insight to establish a fund that will help the Lowe family during this trying period and be around for as long as the RPA exists helping the future generations of our trade. Without a doubt this fund stems from a close personal relationship with Ted, his instrumental involvement in our radiant industry and a respect for humanity.
Thank you Larry.
Hang in their Ted. You WILL WIN this fight!

Ted Lowe
I too think that it is commendable that Dave Yates brought this to the attention of the Wallies. It would be wonderful if there would be 400 responses to this thread.
Ted was speechless upon finding out about the Lowe Fund. I currently have the pleasure of serving on the RPA board with Ted and it is great. When he speaks, everyone listens.
With all of our prayers I hope he has a quick recovery.
