The tape was holding the joint together. But hey at least it was foil tape.

Another satisfied customer !!!
This is a house being converted from forced warm air to hydronic baseboard for heat and a Mitsubishi ductless split will provide the cooling for the home. The customer is also a new builder we are working with (he is in the picture). The builder has been blown away with our knowledge of building sciences and wants to start building his future homes much more energy efficient. The home had a dangerous situation with the existing powervented water heater and a possibility for a CO poisoning disaster. We took care of that bad situation by installing a Buderus GB142 sealed combustion boiler and a Phase III indirect water heater. It is always a pleasure to do work for someone who appreciates the fine craftmanship and meticulous attention to detail we provide.
The furnace had no duct work on the return just a remanant of a existing trunk. The blower on the furnace would overpower the power venter on the water heater and let products of combustion spill ( CO ) into the home.

Nice job. I am interested in learning more about the baseboard units you installed. What kind/brand? I am curious why you chose baseboard vs. radiant panels. Did you use any staple up for radiant floors also? Did you use copper for all your runs or pex/combo? How many days did this install take you?
I am preparing for a similar project and would like to learn more.0 -

Nice Job !!
Great work Darin, nicely layed out and a neat install. Looks like you finnally got Hunt away from the tools huh ?
Only kidding Mark, it looks really nice. I like the condesate pump instead of into the ground. I also like the tempering valve on the indirect. The best way to get a contractor to install your stuff is to put it in his house !
Hey is that a New house trap on the sewer ?

Mouse Trap
That was done a year ago by another contractor. He reduced the pipe from 4" to 3" even though there are three water closets attached.
The builder did more damage to his mechanicals all by himself. It would take too long to document all of it here.

Nice install. Not only providing more efficient, comfortable heat but correcting a CO accident waiting to happen!! Thanks for posting the pictures.0 -
Great pics
one question if i may. do you think a pressure bypass would help on a zone valve system?0 -
No Need
The Honeywell zone valves are wired into the Taco ZV control relay. The circulator does not run till the zone valve is open.
