Radiators

Do you mean cast iron radiators? If so, series loop is NOT recommended! They can give off massive amounts of heat and you'll rapidly run out of heat as the loop progresses--plus they'll get EXTREMELY large as the water temp gets lower.

Baseboard (fin or cast iron) is OK in a series loop, but ensure that you size properly as the water temp lowers!

One-pipe systems using diverter tees can be used for cast iron, but the systems must be VERY carefully engineered to get decent balance.

Two-pipe systems, while they cost a bit more to install, are generally preferred. MUCH easier to make changes should the structure be modified. Also MUCH easier to incorporate thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs).
