Excellent point . I actually thought we where in good shape with some minor tweaks . In the photos section the text is choppy , but that's mostly from trying to save some space.
Speaking of that all the pics open on my lap top from the photo section very quickly and I don't need to scroll for them. I'm wondering why others thought it was slow or you had to scroll what section was that in ? I'll have to check everything else very carefully as well .

Looking good, Joel,
but you have a bunch of typos to fix.Retired and loving it.0 -

looks like a real nice site joel and nice install photos
:-)0 -
really nice!
I like the photo section, but I would cut the size of your full size images in half. I'm on a 19" screen at a decent resolution, and some of those pictures require a whole lot of scrolling to see the whole thing.0 -
Two suggestions
You might want to have an internet guy look at your code to see what you could do to cut the load time, and you might want to have someone (Miss Hollihan?) take a pass at the grammar and structure - you have a lot of non-parallel sentence structure there, and that can be a put-off for some home owners.
Great pics! Nice site otherwise.

Nice site, Joel!
I'd be happy to help you polish up your words. You can check out some of my work at www.wordpolishers.com. Let me know if you're interested!

thanx !
hanx for the feedback , believe it or not that was pro done by our hosting company. I wrote alot of text and after they did the code work I found lots of mistakes both spelling and gramar. I was rather dissapointed by that as I delegated it to them to clean up , since i'm always so busy. I figured most of that would get fixed .I just told them to put it out there and we'll fix it later . Oh well , if you want it done right....

Could you get away with that? ;-)Retired and loving it.0 -
Hmmm
Are you guys using DSL , cable , or a slower dial up . I've got DSL which I'm told is not that great , but our site seems to load up things pretty much as fast as most sites I go to including The Wall.

looks pretty good...
Overall, NICE SITE!
Gave it a quick once over for load time as it was slow to load my first visit (after that it's quick because images are cached)
It seems that the 'header' image is way larger of a file (95K) than it needs to be. I have 'optimized' it in photoshop, and without much quality loss I was able to cut that by almost two thirds (35K). I have attached the optimized image if you want to give it to your webmaster to replace the current one.
The other image thumbnails were all pretty optimized other than a few that were again way larger than needed for good quality. Below is a list of the thumbnails with image sizes. I would have them re-optimize the ones that are around 20000 - 30000 bytes. (20k-30k)
BODY,P,TD { font: 8pt Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, Sans-serif; line-height:10pt }

I spotted
a lot of things like compound adjectives that had no hyphens, and the use of apostrophes when using dates. This sort of stuff jumps off the page when I read. It's a subtle thing, but if you're prospecting for high-end customers (note the hyphen?) they may see it as well and think that you're not concerned with details. Writing reflects attitude, and attitude defines the quality of the work.
As Taco says, "Do it once, do it right." And notice how the period goes inside the quotation marks.
Consider:
"We strive to share our knowledge and learn from the knowledge of others in our industry to continue to offer new and exciting ways of making our client's comfortable."
Note the apostrophe in the word "client's," which makes the word possessive. As written, the sentence means the client owns the comfortable (whatever that means) rather than that you're trying to make your clients comfortable. That leaped off the page at me.
Also, Id switch from the passive to the active voice throughout the site. Its much more persuasive. First impressions are so important.
Lots of stuff like that on the new site, Joel. This is stuff that Erin sees. She works magic with words. As you know, it pays to hire a caring and knowledgeable professional when you want it done perfectly. ;-)

While we're on the subject
When I type stuff on here I'll seperate it into paragraphs . However after I post it , it gets all mushed back together . How do i stop that from happening ?

You're not using HTML markup...
... the board system here respects carriage returns and the like and automatically inserts them into the text after we submit our extra-cranial thoughts.
On a web-site that is written by hand, the usual way to separate paragraphs is by putting an <p> before every paragraph, and closing the paragraph with a <p> (though the latter is not required). The paragraph command thus tells a visiting web-browser to render your musings as separate blocks, not just a big jumble.0 -
Constantin, i flunked typing in high school as i was breaking
bricks in Karate classes at the time and my fingers would no mojo after countless hours of kumite (sparring) with a couple of my Japanese Buddies....
How does one excecute sentence structure and paragraphs on a post? what are the keys to plink when happy with conveyance of a complete thought for a singular paragraph or sentence that conveys a listed addendum?...
A?
i hit enter ,yet never does it seem to delineate a sentence or end of paragraph as i would suspect it might....
*~/: Thanks it woiks0 -
When you're done with a paragraph
just hit the Enter key twice.
Like that.
It will move you down a line.
But you have to hit it twice.
Thanks, Joel. I didn't mean to make you say, "ouch." Just trying to help.Retired and loving it.0 -
dan
Not a problem at all with you . More saying ouch to myself for not more closely following through on what i thought would have been cleaned up by the pros , ( grammar , spelling , typos) . That's what I was looking for here , not just a bunch of "yes men" giving only positive feedback.
