Is there such a thing?
I wonder if there are foam-style pipe insulation manufacturers for low-temp pipe insulation that make it in the various colors that might be of interest in a residential DHW system (i.e. blue and red for starters).
I'm not looking for anything thick on the cold water side (just prevent condensation) while th hot water side would ideally be available up to 1" thick...0 -

I've not run across colored insulation but there are several manufacturers of plastic sleeves, available in practically any color, that will snap over the standard type insulation.0 -
Hot Rod
Hot Rod would be the man to ask, he has posted pictures of something like that.

Like this, Roy G Biv
I tried for the colors of the spectrum, but came up short on the violet. This company has lots of colors and will build just about any pipe size and about any wall thickness.
These are 1/2" wall thickness with the glossy PVC jacketing.
They will do small orders, as this one had one piece of each color. Fitting covers available also.

Insulation covers
Isogenopak is a shiny plastic jacket used over here; it comes in rolls & is fixed with plastic push-in rivets. It's often required by dismayed architects after they've realised what the colour of the specified aluminium foil-backed fibre insulation is. I've only seen Isogenopak in a light grey colour, I'd imagine you could paint it.
The colour is also used to indicate the fluid in the pipes, or it's temperature. It might lead to a misunderstanding if the colour is solely decorative.

Why not paint the foam?
Constantin,
You can paint foam with latex paint. It won't look like Hot Rod's beauty, but it makes it easy for mere mortals like us.

Wrong Link?
Techlite seems to be a commercial illumination retrofit company. Didn't notice anything similar to that insulation.0 -

color insulation
What about the foam pool play things kids slap on the water. Many colors, about a 3/4" hole I think0 -
Con, I painted the insulation in my basement
with latex paint, but the outside insulation need covering to protect it from deteriorating, and to keep the birds from picking at it. Bob

Pool Toys
Hi Peter,
The hole is usually a semi-tight slip fit over 1/2" copper. I have a bunch of it sliped over 5/8" o.d. PEX inside of 4" drain pipe going to my workshop to heat it.
I got it for .25 each for 4 ft' lengths a few years ago at the end of summer.

Armaflex real world problems
One of the real pains with Armaflex is that the best installation requires pushing it on the pipes before you're done. (That's why there's talc on the inside).
Sometimes, you need to add the insulation afterward, and you have to do some sort of mitered elbow. Big bottles of cyanoacrylate are helpful. Also know as Super Glue, it works great on real foam rubber. It doesn't work on polyethylene insulation (which you can't paint either).
Paint on exterior armaflex works marginally well.
(just memories of solar installs from 25 years ago)
The colorful product Hot Rod has could be a step in the right direction, but 1/2" thickness is skimpy. There was an error rendering this rich post.
