    God bless you all.

I can assure you I will not let any future generation forget what you did for us in WW1 & WW2, we are free today because of you.
The U.K. owes all the U.S. vets a great deal for all that you did for us. THANK YOU.
    Regards.

    Thanks

From the U.S. to the U.K. and all over the world -- this is truly a day to pay back our vets for the lifestyle we are enjoying. It is especially heartwarming to hear a thanks coming from "across the pond." God Bless America.

    Guys

not to pick nits, but today we remember the dead. God bless the Veterans, but today is for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. It's Memorial Day.

In Flanders Field the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.
    Retired and loving it.

Well Dan I do agree with you, today IS Memorial Day
.. But, My Uncle was killed on Omaha beach on D-Day. and since I can't say thanks to him.
I thought it appropriate to thank those who made it back. and to let them know that their friends and buddies that did not come home, are thought of today and everyday.
Regardless of the name we give a particular holiday, Everday is a good day to say thanks to a vet or soldier.

Again....Thank You for what you have done, and I pray for the souls we have lost.

A friend lost his son in Iraq this week

A friend of mine is a Viet Nam vet who heads up the Viet Nam Veterns in our area. He was teaching his history class this past Tuesday when he was called to the office. As soon as he walked into the office, he knew that his son had been killed. 2 soldiers were there to give him the details.

The young man was 20, newly married, and was escorting an Iraqi dignitary when a car bomb blew up as he drove by in his Humvee. 2 other soldiers were killed as well.

I'm sure that this Memorial Day was a really tough one for his Dad, his wife, and other family members. Please remember Dustin Fisher as he gave his life in a place where insurgents live their lives like animals.

Our hearts go out to your friend

    ans his loss.

I took my oldest son this year to out small towns Memorial Day service.

I tried to explain to him what was going on and why. Why the flag is held higher than the others, why the soldiers fire thier guns, why taps is played and the hardest to explain... why taps is echoed. I say this because I choked up alittle, thinking of the young men and woman who did not return to our small little peice of heaven.

My heart goes out to all Parents who's beautiful smiling child does not return from a far away place.
