Yup , that thing is way cool . I did ask the question about lockout at FIA though , like JCA I was concerned with that. We have to go out sometimes to reprogram peoples theremostats , just simple 5+2's . I wouldn't want all of them to be able to get in too deep with those theremostats. One question I had but didn't get to ask was do you have to use the boiler reset module ??
For instance I have alot of customers that already have reset Via a Viessmann , could TN4 be added to those houses or would it wig out because it wasn't controlling the boiler??

Spent yesterday with them.
Very impressive stuff! Great presentation for a preview, but I have to wonder how far a homeowner will try to take the thermostats. They can do a myriad of things and get someone into trouble with the wrong commands. (speaking with Steph...he informed me of the lockout features that are in place.) If someone can read real technical manuals, they just might be tempted to go deeper and make me come out at night to fix a simple thing.
The "2 way "ability of the thermostas and controls is a step in the right direction. Communications to the system is the key, and they found a neat way to do it. All in all, a nice and compact system. The expansion abilities are trmendous also.My Lord....Tekmar is talking about being able to control up to 96(?) zones simultaniously, before the V/A on the transformers are getting critical. Quite immpressive. With enough knowledge and wiring, this system can take control of a large commercial job and with the portals/comports coming to speak with different computer systems, they can cut the cost of building management by MANY thousands of dollars.
Gentlemen, if you don't get in on this technolgy now you might kiss lots of jobs goodbye in the future. The training is moving around quite a bit and I suggest you find the time to attend.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention how neat it looks when wired. No more nasty looking flex tubing everywhere connecting one thing to another. Chris0 -
I guess you guys were in Ft Wayne
I was at the Tuesday training in Chicago. I agree nice stuff. I already have the controls speced out for one job and looked at another today to put together the proposal using tN4. I also hope they have made the stats more user friendly... I still get calls about how to program the RTU 062 on the 369's0 -
Boilerpro,
Boston area for the last 5 days that I know of. Thanks to FIA and Capco. Chris0 -
I understand the first
systems will be available in July. Was that what they said at the show?0 -
Even sharp homeowners won't be able to find
their way out of a Tekmar maze - don't worry about that! It is quite remarkable that Tekmar has no real competition that I know of........yes, Chris, they are the future. Mad Dog

Great Day.0 -
Joel, yes....
...even the thermostats alone can be used and networked to gain all of the features and functions communication gives you. IE: Zone Synchronisation, sharing of temperatures and schedules, remote interface via Gateways once available aso.
Hope this answers your question. What you will lose, is the Indoor Temperature Feedback and the increased efficiency and comfort level because of it. Another very important feature that is lost in this case, would be the conditional DHW Priority that allows you to shut of certain zones first over others...

Thanks to all of you guys!!!
We simply build what you are asking for. It may take a while to get things implemented though. Keep in mind that this tN4 has been in the works for almost 4 years.
Your feedback is always very appreciated and helps us understand your needs.
Good weekend everyone!
