you did a great job and had fun in the process, thanks Mark.
I agree Jim should fit well in this position. Thanks to both of you wetheads :)

I quit!
I quitting my teaching position at Red Rocks Community College. I'm giving up the postion to a brilliant former student/great wet head friend and frequent Wallie, Jim Eastman. Jim is going to continue the wet headed tradition of providing an excellent education on basic hot water heating systems using his years of "field training" as a background. Heck, I may even sign up for his class! ;-)
Best of luck Jim, and let me know if you need any help/advice. Some of these students come up with some pretty crazy questions...
As for me and my carcass, I'll still be up there on Thursday nights from 6:00PM till 10:05 PM like I have been for the past seven years, but I'll be teaching the newest addition to the long line of trades oriented classes, Advanced Hydronic Heating Controls for Residential and Light Commercial Buildings. The sylabus has been written, and approved. I'm still looking for the ideal text book, and for the mean time will continue to use the Siegenthaler text that has served the other two classes so well.
Now, about all those offers to get me fixed up with equipment and controls for the students to be able to work on "hands on", I hope the offers still stand...
And here I thought I was going to have a nice, quiet peaceful summer vacation break from school...
Congratulations Jim, you'll do us all proud, I'm sure.

It looks like Red Rocks has an OUTSTANDING curriculum! I wish my local CC had nearly as good a program as Red Rocks!!!

Marks class
Permission needed to take this class or prerequisites(sic).
I'd like to take it, have taken electrical for HVAC at RR in early 90's and worked in field since 70's. May I?0 -
I've allways thought
How great it would be if a local college had such a class. Hell, I even thought about visiting my brother-in-law in Colorado just to go to a Eatherton class.
Best Wish's Mark. Your an insperation to the rest of us !

Way to go Mark
Hydronics is going someplace because of people like you. I'd love to take the class too. Maybe I can take the company Lear Jet, swing by Boston and pick up Scott and scoot out to Coloraro to take the class. Except that the Lear Jet is in the shop again. Damn! I'd love to see your sylabus for the old class and the new. I've been pushing for my class to switch to the Siggy Text book but we'll see. Things happen slowly. We've been using the IBR binder which has some nice pictures but is not very well organised for teaching out of. For example; The radiator sizing charts are in a totally other chapter that the section about sizing rads. What's that all aboot eh? A big plus though is we have an internet connection with a projection screen so I can go to the Wall and show the class pictures and threads that lead us to hydronic understanding. Good luck with the new class. WW

Wayne..
here's the sylabus I proposed to the board. I think it prettty much went through intact. You or anyone else with the initiative can feel free to re-use it at your discretion. Thanks for doing your part in educating the incoming troops!

Ya think he could
put up with your clan for 4 months? I'm sure Chris can handle the operations..Oh yeah, have your bro-in-law adopt you now so that you will be considered an in state citizen, otherwise, sell your house and business to underwrite your education out here...
And for those students from Colorado who intend to attend next year, make sure you fill out the COF paper work necessary to subsidize your education, or you WILL feel like an out of state student, and you may even have a major out of wallet experience...
Thanks for the kudos Scotty. When you going to get back into the education biz? They're waiting for you out there...
