Before you install your new norton program make sure to remove any and all other types of antivirus. Norton CANNOT run with any of them. Specially Mcafee....

system maintanance
Weezbo do you run disc cleanup and defrag often? It will delete all temp cookies from internet use. Do you also run a firewall and antivirus system? (norton is in my opinion the best). If not let me know, I have a link to a free online virus check. It's a good one and no charge for usage...0 -
Weezbo,
Sounds to me like you've been hijacked! Someone has found a way to plant malicious drivel on your hard drive and track your moves on the internet.
I've had this happen on 2 occasions and then went out and found some anti-virus and anti-hijack programs. Don't remember the names but they've been working flawlessly for about 6 months and I get little notices that send the offending deviates name to the spyware company and let me know who has been trying to get their page to change my home page. I think its Microsoft anti spyware and I know I'm running Norton always.
Best of luck brother. Some of these things get really deep into your drive and the fixit folks have trouble finding them all. Chris0 -
Weezbo
If none of the above works and you can't get your system cleaned up, save all your important files to a disc and run the restore disc that came with the PC. That will bring the entire system back to where it was when it came out of the box. Even when you delete your cookies there are still little things that hang around on your hardrive and eventually the systems gets bogged and needs to be cleaned up. Crash it, clean it, and restore it, it's done in a couple of hours. Maybe you were on a particular site and something grabbed your browser, if so cleaning the entire hardrive is the only way your going to get that baby back.
Been there, wasted more time trying to find it than it took to crash and restore it...........ROOKIE0 -
