I sure hope Bud Goodman from TheSheetMetalShop.com stops by to see this one. Amazing how long it lasted, isn't it?

Your talk
During your talk Dan you mentioned sitting and wondering what the old timer's were thinking. Well after arriving at this job what you said really made sense!! I actually felt bad about taking this old timer out. All of the tin work was soldered together and then screwed. It was installed somewhere between 1905 and 1908 as a coal system. At one point in it's life it burned wood and then switched to oil. The young lady (85) who live's here still has the coal plates for the bottom of this system. Simply amazing what you can find...

Aw you should have left it there hahaha the new one won't last that long, Whats with the plywood box behind the furnace?? Where does the return air come from?? Havent seen one of those in a while

umm
That plywood box is the return!!! Hmm probably should have warned you not to take a drink before reading this. And yes Dan, utterly amazing specially considering their were no hole's in the HX. They simply wanted to upgrade and have alot of plan's for the house. Talk about built like a tank. I have to return tomorrow to do some more work, I'll try and get a pic of the oil tank's which are somewhere in the area of 30 to 40 year's old....0
