faucets, looks much like a brass furrel with the exception that it is made of plastic and fitts over pex supply tubes. it is tapered and out of thousands of them this is the first one that inexplicably failed. Over the years i have heard other plumbers mention a failure ,however it isnt all that common of a thing to "happen".Some kids took two wrenches and opened one as a prank on one of my houses last year .this one was cranked down tight on the angle stop andis a fight to get the compression nut loose with two wrenches...with the fill tube out of the equasion.

    Not a Delrin ring but

had a similar situation recently with a yard line. Used Wirsbo straight to the meter did everything right, got a call on Sunday while standing at the barbeque from the customer that his yard was full of 6" of water and all his brick work was ruined, man that sucked sometimes I think it's lifes cruel little joke. Definately put me on my heels wondering "should I really be doing this for a living?". Like Momma always said "This to shall pass".

    Weezbo I'm no expert

but if I recall correctly the Ins. will pay for all damages to property, but will not pay for the repair of the plumbing that caused this problem be it workmanship or faulty parts.

that is what i thought was the standard line of thought.

it is the first time the shoe was on the other foot ....man how in the heck one 2 cent delrin ring could trash so much good work makes me wonder if the shark bite fittings on a straight stop or angle stop wouldnt be a little bit better idea...Hmmm...maybe they will make thier own angle stop somedaysoon..if so , i am buying...i have looked and looked at the delrin ring and theres just nothing nicked or readily identifiable as what the reason is for it to come apart...man whatta bummer.
