It's called the bottom of the condenser, with a txv system you check charge by amt of subcooling which reflects amt of backed up liquid. As to suction accumulators air to air heat pumps often have them and they can be added if you must put the refrigerant lines underground.

    liquid recievers

Why do you not need a liquid reciever on a residential ac application with a txv?

    refrigerant recievers

are not on residental A/C units becuase the TXV keeps only vapor going back to the compressor with a twelve to forteen degree superheat, assuming normal operation.

    You're thinking

accumulator. A receiver is on the liquid side before the TXV, in the condenser. Not used on residential AC, they just let the liquid back up into the condenser coil, which helps keep it cool. Not much room for overcharging w/o a receiver, but that's not a bad thing :)

    receivers

receivers are not needed because temps for res. ac are from 78+degrees outside temps . the condenser can hold enought freon for this application
