I'am trying to properly size a header for a steam boiler. Any help would be great.
Is there a formula used to size?

best bet...
is to go with the manufacturer's specs if you can get them.0 -
Or,
If you don't like following instructions, take the manufacturer's specs and make 'em a size bigger.

i size them
as big as the square inch area of the combined take offs..the old hoffman data book said this then added increase one pipe size..but best to do what the manufacturer says then wheigh the choices as to whether or not the manufacturers data is a minimum or not..it wont hurt to oversize the header, but it will to undersize it.gwgillplumbingandheating.com
