Cast Iron Radiators

Many times they have them in houses they are wrecking. They may also know of local places that buy architectural salvage that could supply one. You might also try a local scrap yard that may have some or may know who deals in that sort of thing. Good luck.

Source for cast iron radiators
We have a customer that is restoring a 100 yr old home. The basement had ceiling hung, single tube radiators installed. It is missing 1 unit. estimated size is 3 1/4" thick, 28" wide and 53" long. My ancienct books say that this is about 52 sq. ft. of EDR. Does anyone know of a source for either new or refurbished [ reputable ] radiation. We are located in Wausau, WI.0 -

Some person was getting rid of radiatiors from their restorarion project and was wondering if someone would take them away. I guess you dont need them or want them until you need or want them...Go figure.0 -

If you're not too picky about the physical dimensions or style and are just looking for about the right EDR, you can often find them very inexpensively or even free for the taking.
You might try an inexpensive "Wanted" ad in the local newspaper.
Contact demolition companies.
Check scrap yards--if you're lucky you'll find a yardmaster who will actually watch for them for you and give you a call before they destroy them. Slip him a nice tip and he'll probably be more helpful...
Salvage companies and "junk" stores sometimes have them.
Old-timers at good heating companies sometimes stockpile them and will sell if they have too many on hand.
Architectural salvage stores sometimes have them.
Have ordered the list with generally increasing prices.0 -
