it only goes up to 1 pound. That should be all you need.

Vaporstats
I'm considering replacing my Honeywell Pressurtrol on my one pipe steam boiler.
I see Honeywell offers a L408A 1157 and a L408A 1132.
Any preference to either one?
Thanks,

Thank you steamhead.

Hey have you ever installed a Tekmar steam reset control?
If you have, how well did you like it? I think it's pretty cool and interesting that the outdoor, indoor, and condensate temps determine the boiler cycle. This sounds like a fuel saver. But should I believe the hype?0 -
Yes I have
I like the Tekmar #269. Look for an update to our Find a Professional ad which will include one of these units.

Hey Steamhead, will that 1132 work ok on a 2 pipe system too?
I am working on a 2 pipe system where the owners what me to try to improve their fuel efficency. Plan to replace all the radiator and cross over traps and put on a vapor stat.
The boiler is a newer Peerless. When it was replaced, they left the old vent trap and boiler return trap along with the old check valves. I have a feeling that all this stuff does not work any more and is probably not needed with a newer boiler where that is enough "B" dimension. Any ideas if I should tear out any of this old stuff?

That 1132 Vaporstat
is the right choice for that system. With a Return Trap and Vent Trap it's definitely a Vapor system.
You could remove the Return Trap, but if it's not leaking steam thru the valves into the dry return I'd leave it there. That way if the Vaporstat's pigtail clogs, you have a backup. If you want to really go first class, have Tunstall rebuild it. And make sure those checks are clean.
Tunstall and Barnes & Jones make nice repair parts for almost any trap. They work well and save the labor of removing the old trap bodies. If the mains vent more slowly than they should, increase the size of the crossover traps or switch to Gorton #2 vents. Either way will work.
You may need to add return venting capacity beyond that of the Vent Trap. You can do this by adding Gorton #2 vents to the dry return.
Pics please!
