Humming Furnace

why does it humm, cause it can't sing. Just kidding, look for incorrect orfice sizing or gas pressure or gas piping size. 99% sure your pressure of set wrong or not enough volume.

    Weatherking Rumble

Help. While installing a new furnace at a two family house my attention was drawn to the newly installed 2nd floor furnace. Someone installed a Weatherking model 90RJ10EGS01 2 YEARS AGO. Every time this furnace fires up it makes a harmonic rumbling sound through the heat exchanger. The unit vibrates and rumbles for about 45 seconds, (warms the exchanger) then disappears until the next cycle. The installer came back 2 times and told this little old man that it was normal. I have been in the HVAC Business 20 years, it is not normal.....any ideas?Help. While installing a new furnace at a two family house my attention was drawn to the newly installed 2nd floor furnace. I know this is too simple but is there a really long flex connector? I see it all the time, grab the gas line when it's making the noise and if it changes the sound either shorten it or re-pipe. I only keep 3/4 lines on the truck so I don't have to mess withit on my own installs. Check the manifold pressure while your at it. Also check the static inlet pressure. Sometimes a monster inlet can make the gas valve do amazing things.

Had one problem with harmonic sound same thing another said normal to humm.

Gas pressure was high 4.5 " and oraface size was small and not spec. The temp rise was good but that humm went through the whole house..

    Smile and share one
