Chris-If your just cleaning one evap. coil. After you dry brush and vacuum the coil, try using car wash soap in a trigger bottle then wash it well with plain water. You may need to do several times. Or you can try vineger in a spray bottle. Best Wishes J.Lockard

I want to clean a very dusty and dirty evporator screen in my central air conditioner. I am haing a lot of trouble finding commercial cleaners that I can spray on, I was wondering if that is the way to go or if any of you use something different on them and any tips for doing it? Thank you

You need to pick this up ata an ac/refrigeration supply house. There are several brands and different types of cleaners. The brand is less important in my opinion. Make sure you tell them you want cleaner for an evaporator coil(dont use condenser coil cleaner) Follow the instructions as far as water dilution and spray it on the coil let it sit and wash it off(some types are self rinsing). Protect all motors and electrical components and make SURE the power is turned off.
You may want to clean off the heavy debris with a soft brush before using the cleaner. You may want to use the cleaner more than once. Install a good air filter and seal all the ductwork with duct sealer (especially the return air ducts).
