    who makes it

I need some high output 1100btu/sq ft [edit- @150 deg F] two tier hot water baseboard, 22" tall or less, but looking for something that has a durable, non-corroding finish suitable for use in a greenhouse. In other words, must be durable, and won't rust from water splashing.....

    Anybody got any idears?

Vulcan, Sterling or Slant-Fin Commercial Lines

Stainless steel covers are available. Galvanized can be painted or ordered with the powder coat but no finish lasts forever. Kynar finish is the next best thing. I would also use copper on copper fins if you can. Copper when corrodes (verdigris, copper oxide) is a natural biocide/fungicide.

With the current thread on materials costs, order today! :)

    Oh, Cosmo- One Other Thing...

Given that you have a low water temperature, see if you can get small pipe sizes. They used to offer 1/2" which is great for high delta-T/low flow rates. Otherwise 3/4" tube. Higher tube to fin ratio.

In either case, copper on copper may be a "special". I used the 1/2" in a private pool back in the late 1980's and it is holding up well last I heard.

Another thought: Get the Cu-Cu element and SS hangers. Save the stainless cover cost which is a huge piece of it. Have a cement board or that white cutting board plastic backer board as the cover on brackets to get your chimney effect. Waterproof and less money. Drop a hose over it and nothing to worry about.

    Good luck-

    do we share cerebral dna?

I was just talking to the rep for sterling, and I said, well what the heck, why not just buy the tube & brackets and let the homeowner get the tile guy to cut some cement board to use as the cover. I was thinking of maybe using trench drain grill cover for the top grille! That's CRAZY weird! Boy I think I am in for a shock when he quotes me the copper tube/fin, he might say that he can't give me a 30 day quote price, now it's just like buying fish....MARKET PRICE! (price may change on an hourly basis)

Thanks Brad, I didn't think about the stainless steel brackets, gotta make a call....YOU DA MAN!

    Or Bronze Brackets!

May be the same $ as stainless brackets but why not ask?

Thanks for the You Da Man comment, Cosmo. That is high and valued praise coming from you.

    Great minds, Brother!

Let me know how this one pans out!

I don't know how well they will stand up to corrosion but the finish looks like it may. They are a europian company (I think) and am being told that You need to use their valves which change to standard pipe thread. I like some of the design options available and they have very good BTU outputs for small units.
