Federal gas boiler replacement

As usual, your work is flawless, and all the room you had for this job must have made things even easier! I like the compactness of the "footprint" since that lowers the possibility of people bumping into circulators, etc. while trying to access the electrical panel. In particular, the pipe header with its LWCO, neat vertial take-offs, and well-organized wiring is a treat.

If there is one thing I might have done differently, it would have been selecting a sealed-combustion unit... perhaps having an exterior combustion-air intake wasn't in the cards?

Nonetheless, a great install. The homeowner better be thrilled.

  • We don't install much

gas heating equipment . This was for one of our oil driver's daughters . She didn't want to leave it to any other company . There was nothing wrong with the boiler , she wanted to reduce her gas bill .
  • We installed a Burnham

gas boiler , I'm not familiar with the model number . I can get into this gas stuff - very light boiler . Simple and sweet . I was amazed at how fast the boiler heated up with both zones going . A vast improvement in response time compared to the old unit .

    welcome

Welcome to the dark side!! Gas boiler's are so much nicer to install due to the weight. Nice install, it will be interesting if she track's her bill to see how much she saves.
  • Thanks Darth

I like how the gas boilers are all put together , mostly prewired , almost like plug n play . We buy our oil boilers knocked down and usually takes an hour or so to dress it up to the point of piping the copper . I'm positive the bill will be cut enormously . It seemed like it shut off on high temp after only 3 or 4 minutes with the zones calling .

Actually , I used to install gas boilers and heaters in the city quite often . Mostly oil to gas conversions for a company that offered low interest loans and city and state grants to poor families . Gotta say we were on edge working in Crown Heights after the incident in the early 90s . Thanks again Lchmb .
