    Combustion Analyzer

    Hello all

I was hoping for some help I am in need of a good combustion analyzer. It will be used mostly for residential work but will also be used on commercial applications
I am curious as to what makes and model you all currently use

    Thanks

    Mark E.

You might email Mark Eatherton about an analyzer- he recently wrote an article in Contractor Magazine about that very subject.

Have Bacharach PCA25 and a Testo 325. Am happy with both. The PCA does have a faster response time to measurements and displays Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, CO, CO Free Air, Excess Air, Combustion air temp, Stack temp at one time which you may find useful if you are monitoring changes when a furnace circulator blower turns on. The Testo that I have will only display two selected readings at one time and you have to scroll through while measuring to view all readings. The PCA is more expensive than the Testo 325

    Bacharach new unit...

I was provided a Fyrite Tech 60 to evaluate for a few weeks from Bacharach - the accuracy and response time seemed very good. It does Oxygen (converts to CO2), CO (converts to air free CO), Stack and Ambient Air, Excess Air, Combustion Efficiency - you have to scroll through these, but it's easy and fast to do. Setting up some parameters is a little awkward, at first. It's very small - the carrying case is poorly designed, though. Battery (AA)powered only. The price is unbelievable(ly low)! Give it a look if price of other units is keeping you from having one!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Check out the new

Testo 330. Does everything the 325 does & is NOX capable. Has plug ins for other functions. Filter change a snap. Nice piece. www.testo.com

I have been using a UEI C75 for about 6 months. The unit works great and is reasonably priced. It comes with a 3 year warranty on the unit and 2 year warranty on the sensor. If you decide to purchase an electronic unit be sure to purchase a smoke tester as well if you plan to use it on fuel oil to protect the sensor. To check it out-
www.ueitest.com I have found it to be a great help in checking co calls. Wayne
