for home steam systems on our web site www.rhomarwater.com.
Cleaner Hydro-Solv 9150 and treatment Boiler Pro 903. Both of these products are less concentrated versions of what we use for our industrial clients. They are environmentally friendly and will do the job.

    What's a steam-head to do?

Any advice on cleaning/conditioning steam boiler water after installation? Should we use chemical agents or not? Which one do you prefer? How do YOU use it? Leave any chemical in the water to condition or treat the water? We try to obey the boiler makers' request to skim & flush them. Mnay still have problem with inky, greasy or gritty water in the column and noisy operation.

    Put one cup

of TSP per 100,000 BTU input in the boiler.

Heat until the riser gets too hot to touch (over 115) and drain. Rinse both boiler and returns and then skim.

I just bought 100 # for summer cleanings.

Unless you've used oil-based pipe dope, that will be the end of priming and surging for a few years.
