Thank You from Amy's Army!

I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for their incredibly generous support of my efforts on Amy's Army team for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day. I thought I'd share with you the words of Amy Bjornstad, my inspiration and our team leader, on her current progress. Amy just turned 30, and she was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer last fall. She's a woman of amazing strength - I'm proud to call her a friend! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you've done to support her and her army! Here's an email she recently sent our team:
Hi Girls,
Before I send out my big bulk e-mail to everyone sharing my good news, I wanted to tell you girls first. I found out yesterday that I FOR SURE am DONE with chemo! My surgeon told me on Thursday that I "may need more chemo" and I was so totally bummed and maybe even felling a little sorry for myself for the first time during all of this. But then I went to my oncologist yesterday and he said "No way, jose." There is no chemo out there that would do anything for me, but there is a hormonal therapy that will work for me. Thus, it's a pill a day for five years. This pill will shut down all my girl parts, so it also means no babies for five years, but that's a whole nuther thing that I'm just not going to think about for now. First thing's first: survival! (PLUS, no periods for 5 years! Jealous???) :)
You girls keep telling me that I'm so strong, but I am honestly only
as strong as you broads make me. You continue to rock my world in so many ways, and I just feel so blessed to have you all in my life. I feel like this suck-**** cancer has brought us all together just a little more tightly, and so I guess that makes it all the more
bearable.
Today is a good day. :)
