My wife already thinks I'm nuts.

I would have to get up real early to run the tubing before she got out of bed!

    Pool Heating

We do radiant heating and build pools. There is a very good article in April 25 issue of Pool & Spa News that talks about radiant pool heating. It looks like a pretty standard installation. All the tubing is set in concrete in the bottom of the pool. It works for gunite as well as vinyl lined pools. The guy talks about earning $6-9,000 per pool as opposed to $1,800 - 2,000 for a regular pool heater. The best part is the system can begin heating the pool before the pool is even opened, with the rest of pool's circulation and filtering system going, in the spring. You may want to explore this new revenue stream with your local pool builder..

    An ICF radiantly heated inground

On this job the homeowner built the pool with foam blocks, installed 2" foam under the bottom. He will cover the floor with 3/4" pex and we will connect this to an Ultra boiler.

He may wall off the notch in the far end for a higher temperature spa.

A first for me! A simple way to pool heat if it works :)
