IF you have to run overhead line still only need single pipe. If all connections are tight oil will syphon over from tank. Just bleeb pump and line till no bubbles are present. Have many jobs piped in this way. A tiger loop is overkill as far as I'm concerned. If your going to clamp line to joists make sure you have some kind of rubber around pipe at clamp sites. This will kill any vibration caused by pump gears. ED N.Y.C.

Oil Burner
On a new installation for the job i'm the oil tank would be approx. 40' from the boiler. So coming out of the top of the oil tank with a 2 pipe. The total length of pipe will be approx 60' (each). Never had to run this far. Is this a problem? Burner is a Beckett AFG. Thanks.0 -
Where is the boiler
in relation to the oil tank ? Same level ? Higher ? Lower ?0 -

OIL BURNER
Run oil line from top of tank ? Can,t you pipe in gravity. Then you dont need a bandage ( tiger loop ). Install OSV and be done with it. K I S S ED N.Y.C.0 -
I agree with Ed
Run one line from the bottom of the tank . Gravity works great . No need for a Tigerloop .0 -
I guess I neglected to say that if I run line from bottom of tank (which I normally do) it would be in the middle of the basement floor, There is no way to run it where it wouldn't be a tripping hazzard and in the way. That is why I want to run it out of the top of tank and secure it to the joists and bring it to burner. Boiler and tank are at opposite ends of basement.0 -
In this case
I am with Kevin and the Tigerloop
