Homebuyers Protection Plans

I personally I do not participate in it because the majority of failure are neglect related. In a perfect world, everyone would be concerned about their heating and A/C systems, but that is not the case. They usually run it into the ground then call as to a breakdown and tell you that you need to repair for little to nothing because they didn't change the filter in 3 years. It is actually a good Idea, but ties you into equipment that is not taken care of. I know there are many programs but in my eyes it's like the 39.99 A/C check.........Great deal and cheap, but if the home owner doesn't care about the equipment, How can you.

    Homebuyers Protection Plans

Have any of the Service Oriented contractors here signed on with homebuyers protection plans; of which there are several, and what was the result? Did it help your business or was it a hassle? They seem relentless in their quest to sign up contractors to accept repair work.

    We no longer

accept work from "Home Warranty" companies. Too many hassels and headaches. Too much unpaid time on the phone with MORONS at the insurance company.

    several

We work with several. If I had to deal with them, we wouldn't deal with them! My secretary has learned how to handle them efficiently and learned each one's oddities. She has the patience of an angel - after all, she had to learn to deal with me!

If the warranty co refuses the work, they're the bad guys - not us & they've got more loop-holes than the IRS does for fat-cats. Gotta jump through their hoops just right to get paid too. But, they're good pay if you follow their rules and they get you new customers without your investing a dime.

Gotta look at it from the long view to see the real value.
