Clip Ties

Is there anyone else out there having problems with Clip Ties? I returned a box of 6000 to receive another box of 6000 only to have the same trouble. It is not the tool because I have two and they both do the same thing. Some work and some don't. Some just fall apart when clipping them. Though it might be the cold but left some in the garage and tried them the next day only to have the same thing happen. Don't know if they changed the plastics they used or not. The manufacture told me to get another box and try them so I have another box coming.

I don't want to stop using this tool it is great when it works.

Worst money I have EVER spent

We have bought two tools and $1200 worth of clip-ties. I did not have an issue with the clip-ties themselves. It was the tool. To be kind, I will call this tool "A boil on the Buttocks of the radiant industry".

I have only used about 7000 clip-ties (cumulative) between both tools. I have re-conditioned one like new, and it lasted only one more day.

So, you're thinking to yourself, "Self, what is Paul doing with these tools in Nebraska". I wonder myself, you would think that we are using them as "Louisville Sluggers" or something. O'contrare. Not rocket-science for that tool. It is actually a very clever design. In practical terms from the design table to working tool, something went wrong.

Watts-Radiant would be more than happy to factory-recondition them for me. But I think it is time to cut my losses. I believe Hotrod has nothing but praise for this tool. Of course, he's 15-20 minutes from these guys (???) and maybe got a top-shelf model or something. It may seem like I am venting a bit, but I have spent over $2000.00 on tools and clip-ties for one job, and I have a very bad taste in my mouth. I consider it a valuable lesson in my contracting education and I am moving on.

If you are interested in purchasing some of my clip-ties, let me know.

    Regards,

    PR

    ties

And here I was expecting a rant on the Windsor knot.
I personally think that a bowtie makes a statement. What that statement is depends entirely on the wearer.

I've had mine for 3 years now

probably put tens of thousands of ties through it. Yes it does jam from time to time.

I've beta tested 3 different versions of that tool.

I've almost worn through the plastic on one of mine.

I wonder that they have some bad batches of ties out there?

The early yellow ones (ties) had problems staying latched. Supposed to be fixed with the clear colored ones.

I'd be glad to help you get a resolve on this.

Supposed to be a new updated design about ready for testing. Maybe I can get you guys the updated model to try, and give input on.
