    Who does it?

I know there are some furnace manufacturers that will not warranty equipment that's sold over the internet. What's the policies of the boiler companies?

    Thanks.

    well,

I agree. Installing and servicing boilers is for trained personell.

Do you work for a manufacturer? Are you a rep for a manufacturer? This was directed to the manufacturers.

    warranty

It is not quite so much the installer as the responsible party. Most manufacturers have rep firms handling their products across the country who recieve credit for the product sold in their territory. If an internet company based in Ohio sells a boiler, the Ohio rep gets credit, as the boiler was technically sold in Ohio.
That boiler ends up in Oregon and has an issue. The Oregon rep isn't going to back up the product as they weren't credited for it, and the Ohio rep certainly isn't sending someone across the country, as the boiler isn't in their territory. The end user is the one left hanging, and the name plate on the boiler comes out looking bad.
Another issue is different rules (ASME?) in different states, that the local reps and wholesalers take into account that internet companies may overlook.
There are some internet based companies that really do provide some great packages, but the market can still easily mess them up.
