wiring wireless reciever totaline

FYI- I sent a note to totaline for clarification of wiring scheme for P474-1100REC base unit for wireless system but haven't had any response. I thought this would be a simple question to get answered, but I called totalline and carrier and they won't deal with these questions in house and referred me to a distributor who said if the 2 wire diagram isn't in the documentation that Carrier won't support it. That sounds pretty absurd to me. I just need to talk to an engineer or someone familiar with the theory of ops of the thermostat and I am sure it is quite capable of performing in this circumstance.
Virtually all the thermostats I have in service are 2-wire. Since the cad cell relay isn't set up 3 wire I don't believe it has a C terminal. I guess I could bust it open and find the opposite phase of the 24V for the 'common' if it is necessary although totaline's instructions do seem to indicate that C is not always used so maybe there is no problem with a two wire setup. I just can't get anybody to admit it. I could of course add a 24V transformer and pick up C and Rh but that could interfere with the onboard transformer in the CAD cell relay unless I get the transformers in matched phase so if this will run as 2 wire it would be preferable.
Has anyone installed one or had any experience in this regard?
Thanks,
Brian
