in boiler room and bedroom enough?

I'll be hopefully getting the NSI 3000 alarm soon and want to know if I should have one in bedroom and boiler room. In boiler room how close to the boiler should I place it? (Have an atmospheric gas fired Weil McLain Model CGM-7P1 Series 7 from 1981.)

    Thanks,

    David

    In the bedroom

    is the best place.

Don't waste your money on putting one in the mechanical room. You'd never hear it.

Thanks Mark, but I work in basement

all day next to enclosed boiler room and I thought if by chance there was 15ppm CO or so in basement, by the time it got to the bedroom it might be diluted to only 5ppm, alarm wouldn't sound but I'd be at risk downstairs. What say ye?

    OK

Carry it with you while you're in the basement, but bring it back to the bedroom when you are done.

    How's that?

    Thanks again

Amazing, 11:30pm EST Sunday night and the Wall comes through yet again. Think it's time for another brick. And you in particular Mark have been such a consciousness-raiser on this issue. I'm getting one for my mom and sister as well. At least this is something we have control over.

    Best,

    Location of alarms

Should be one just outside the mechanical room. One on each living level including just outside the bedrooms.

    Installed head to bed height.
