1000 btu'S PER HOUR0 -
MBH

mbh
M is 1000th's 1,000(M)Btu(B)hour(H) MBH
so 20MBH = 20,000btu hour0 -
Mille (M) means 1,000
in Latin (Italian) :O)
So, now you know the rest of the story
Ever wonder why Munchkins are called 50M, 140M, 199Ms etc?
Don't feel bad, I didn't know till I came here either.
Take care out there, and test everything.

M= Munchkin
Munchkin BTU's are smaller than regular ones, silly!0 -

It pays to wander away from the Wall every once in a while.
It's a NATINAL HYDRONIC TREASURE if you use it right.
Go to Hot Tech Topics and scroll down to the Industry Acronyms topic.

Those btu's are also round...
instead of square, like some of the older btu's out there.
When are people going to understand that you can't use square btu's in round boilers!
When people start dieing from btuosis I suppose...

i didn't realize i'd start a firestorm thanks jp for the clear explanation ,tankless for the language lesson[around here munchkins come in a box from dunkin donuts-50m's means 50 mixed etc]and everyone for responding!!!! bructer0 -
Smaller & smarter
squeezing (condensing) every last bit of a btu out of a btu
I never thought of them being round or square ? That's like asking is time long or wide, does it go backwards or forwards or is there a sideways aspect to it (jump in any time, Wheeze).
See what kind of firestorm a simple question can ignite
How many propane btu's does it take to make the best spaghetti sauce in the history of the world? Don't know, but if I could post a pic of the smell & taste of what I just cooked, you guys would be beating a path to my kitchen
2 lbs ground sirloin, 1 lb of smoked deer backstrap, onions, garlic, red & green bell-peppers, green onions, stewed tomatoes, shrooms, Tony Chachere's magic Creole powder & Ro-Tel extra hot tomtoes & chillies.
Hey, it's saturday, I'm taking the day off. But back to them btu's, I probably used 1 lb of propane in 4 hr's. Not sure about btu's, but only about 0.50 cents.
See what you started
Brian, in 70* swampland, where the oak trees are starting to leaf, grass is growing & flowers are here already which shouldn't be here till March or April !!!!!
06 is going to be a helluva hurricane year.

Thanks
You had to mention that didn't you, now I have to run into town for a coffee...:)
Although for some reason, I'm thinking spaghetti for supper....Really not sure why but it sound's pretty good right about now..:)0 -
That sauce recipe
has me racing to my kitchen, Tankless. Only problem is deer meat in these parts (Boston, MA). They are the size of German shepherds and they are hard to hit with your car. Recipe is a keeper though.
We are having a fais do do up here in MA tonight with your Jesse Lege' and one of my friends has promised to bring up some boudin for the pot luck. I can only hope...
Where exactly are you?

Computer card
Tankless all you need is that new smell-a-vision card on that that there computer of yours to share it all with us

In the middle of
nowhereHonestly. Dead in the middle of Cajun & Cowboy Country.
210 miles NW by W from New orleans, 67 miles south of Alexandria, 32 miles NE of Lake Charles. 1/4 mile from the Calcasieu (Crying Eagle) river, on a dead-end road in the middle of the woods. Nearest neighbours, Indian Village (Coushatta), pop about 200. Nearest town, Kinder, "Crossroads to Everywhere". That's what the sign says "You can get to everywhere from here" I'm not kidding.
10 miles to the Grand Casino Coushatta, pop 5,000 on a slow nightThanks to a certain Mr. Abramoff, the Coushatta's are $32 million poorer & the chief got fired.
I moved 50-60 miles inland from the Gulf coast, but Rita got me anyway, oh well.
Deer & wild pigs come crashing through my back yard regularly.
Tha famous "Rabideaux" restaurant is just down the road a ways, also in the middle of nowhere. But on any given evening, a line can stretch 100yds down the hwy, of cars & trucks picking up food on the way home from work. The best tasting, but most unhealthy, fattening food you'll ever eat. Their Boudin is awesome.
Spaghetti's done, time to eat.
Enjoy Mr. Leger.
Cheers, Brian.

Smellavision card
can you imagine getting a patent on something like that
Do you think it would be as popular as intermittent windshield wipers ?
Now you mention it, I heard that some Japanese cinema's have a scent release deal, to enhance the movie experience? I wonder how they handle an actor letting loose an impromptu fart :O)
I'll leave on that note
Cheers, Brian.0 -
Everyone is just messing w/you
"M"is the roman numeral for 1000. At least I think..Could be "Miles Ber Hour",......Just having fun..0 -
MBH
Maximum Burnhams pr Hour?
M or m roman numeral for 1,000 B for BTU, H for hour.
thousand British thermal unit per hour. The amount of energy required to raise the temperature of one pound of water one degree farenheit. Thomas Tredgold.
Roman numeral link,

Many Beers per hour?0 -
Okay, the engineer in me just went bug-eye!
MBH = 1000 Btu/hr = MBTU/Hr = MBTUH
I've seen it written many ways, but they all mean one thousand British thermal units per hour. Divide BTU/Hr by 1000 and you get MBH.
A British thermal unit (BTU) is the amount of heat required to raise one pound of water 1 degree F.
Did you know that a ton of air conditioning (12MBH) is the rate of heat transfer required to melt one ton of ice in 24 hours? I just threw that one in for free.
MAN the guys was messin' with you today!0 -
Absolute Zero
I took an A/C course and my preteen daughter asked what I had learned at school the night before, so I told her I learned that absolute zero was 459* below zero Fahrenheit or where all molecular movement stops ie nothing moves, so she asked but what does that mean, my teenage son says it when hell freezes over.
