buying steam parts
Recently purchased a new house with single pipe steam heat. Need some new parts - pressure gauge, main vent, radiator vents and so forth that are not functioning properly. Does anyone know a one stop online store that sells these parts?
Also, any specifics about the pressure gauge would be helpful. Currently have a 0-30 internal siphon (what is internal siphon anyway and is it important?) US Gauge which maxes out when the boiler is running (back mount 1/4" male). Fairly sure that it is bad since the pressure relief valve has not blown, although I should probably replace that as well. (does it need a special heat rating or is any 15 psi PRV fine?).
Thanks for any help! This is a great site and I have learned a lot from reading the posts. If anyone knows a good steam expert in Maine, let me know as well...0 -
