Thermostats - anticipator or measurement type?
I'm curious if anyone has a good opinion on whether thermostats like the good ole T87 with the anticipator circuit are still a better way to go for convection hydronic than the electronic type that can respond quickly to actual temperature changes? I tried one of the latter once, and it seemed to call for heat a lot longer and swung the temps more widely, but that was many years ago. I'm using a Wirsbo A3030101 for radiant and with the PWM it seems very intelligent and does a good job - the PWM is the equivelent of a "programmed anticipator". But for convection, especially with multiple boiler sources that don't operate at the same high temp, it seems the type that actually measure the temperature could operate more consistently. Any thoughts on this - are the newer electronic type still using some kind of programmed anticipation, or can they now respond quickly enough to actual air temp to be effective? Thanks.... Dave0 -
