aquapex?HePex

wirsbo hePex and aqua pex use the same expansion toll and rings....it is really the same tubing...it won't blow of at 80 psi. kpc

    Can I use expander HEpex pex expander rings on aquapex potable water pex using propex fittings,will 80psi blow off connection or must I use crimp fittings and crimps? I dont understand how aquapex fittings are code with smaller ID.
    also bought soft touch crimper will this work with wirsbo crimps and fittings? any help appr.

    Pro pex fittings are wonderful :)

    but use the 3/8ths fitting for that size pex.

    they hold up to a lot higher pressure than that i might add.

    a buddy of mine i took an special inspectors licence examination with, is big on vangaurd crimp rings. he lashed their crimp on to some Wirsbo and failure didn't occur until just after 400 psi. it is an independent investigation of the material so unless You test You can only go with my word on this one.

    i never thought of doing it as i have no need for that type of pressure on a fitting ,however, i have run the pressure up to 140 psi on propex fittings on more than one occasion,and they held not that i ever run anything at 140 psi just wanted to be absolutely certain that 100 psi wasn't the top of the limit.


  • I went to Wirsbo's factory and watched a "blow test". the tubing itself will blow before those fittings will.
