Expansion tanks

When not using an air eliminator, would there be any problem in installing an expansion tank horizontally instead of vertically to save space. (In case it matters, the supply line would also be running vertically, not up and down.)

if you are talking the older style steel tank, that is the way they are usually run, if you are talking about a bladder tank, there was quite a spirited duscussion on that point not to long ago on the wall. I have run them and seen them run succesfully in all manor of positions. I am sure this will bring further responses0
