Pex clips and wood floors

That's the typical way of doing it. However, I thought suspended tubing radiant panels didn't work very well with supply temps below 180 degrees.

Pex clips and wood floors
I'm building a radiant system where one of the floors will be heated with pex hung beneath the subfloor with Wirsbo pex clips. I'll be running 180 degree water through the pex and I'm not finding any formulas for figuring out the resulting floor surface temperature. Will this harm the oak floor above?0 -

Normally
Normally the surface temperature is derived from the required load and the water temperature is then derived from the required surface temperature and the resistance of the floor assembly.

I have several Suspended systems
with Wood floors above and they work just fine. As Tim said whether this will work for you depends on many conditions....The only way to find out is to run the information through a design program. I keep the water temp below 140F and can heat most spaces in properly insulated homes this way. Lots of glass, air lekage or low R-values requires additional capacity which plates can provide.

Run your heat loss through a program
That will tell you that floor temp. and water temp. you need all based on your heat loss. I have been doing radiant for over ten years and haven't had to run anything over 145.
Talk to a pro. and have him guide you through your design and install even if he charges for his time it is well worth it to have a correctly installed system. do it right the first time.0
