Weil Mclain GV Warranty issues (Ray L)

I have had several issues that needed parts from the factory and my supply house and local rep have always gotten the parts to me wicked quick.

If I need next day air and the part is on the shelf somewhere they got it to me and then some extra parts with them.

Looks like you need a new rep or supplier.

Been waiting THREE MONTHS for the start flange, z vent, drip tee, and fittings to replace some heat-fab pipe that was recalled on a Weil Mclain GV boiler. (I know the recall was awhile ago but we caught it on a maintanance call) Anyone else ever deal with the SLOW 'corrective action department' of weil mclain? Weil Mclain themselves have been great to deal with, but the corrective action team has been not so great...

    Let em know

That's all you can do. If they do not give acceptable answers for the delay or do not take action, STRIKE ONE. I know sometime things are caught up in red tape, BUT things still have to be done. I personally do not tolerate this but will take an aggressive approach in getting answers.

    Ray,

if your talking about the recall to replace the high temp plastic vent with stainless steel, it realy has nothing to do with WM. The recall is actually a result of a class action lawsuit against the manufacturers of the high temp plastic. The money was put into a trust fund I believe with a company put in charge of releasing the funds as claims were maid. The couple of experiences I had years ago with this were very slow, and the fund paid very poor labor rates. Now on top of it one of the manufacturers was bought out and the new parent comapny has notified the CPSC that ehy will no longer take responsibility for plastic vents out there.

It's basically at a point where you and the customer is better off just paying to have the venting re-done, as it will get done a lot faster.
