radiators

Greetings,

Does anyone have any sources for selling recently removed steam radiators? I will have a mix of stand-up and baseboard types. I am in North Eastern New Jersey.

I assume they are worth more as radiators than scrap iron, corrct?

    Yes they are

However you should clean them, size them, and make them ready for sale. "If they look like junk"? You could post them on the internet, but at least have them sized! Look on the left here and obtain the book that would size them easily. E-bay may be the place to post them for sale

    Why

    are you tearing them out?

If it's because someone told you you have to remove them to install air-conditioning, this is NOT true. Mini-duct A/C systems work well in radiator-heated houses, and they don't usually require ugly bulkheads.

If the person who told you this is a contractor, find another contractor. If you switch from radiators to scorched-air, comfort will suffer and fuel bills will probably go up.
