Helping everyone get their feet back on the ground and having a chance to spin in some work you like to do will be a winning deal for everyone. Your work will add some real Grounding to the community ...getting things done will take wearing a couple few more "hats" than you might figure...to me that is a one of a kind adventure into exploring the strengths and developing solutions to some very real time problems. it takes a group of personal initative to keep things rolling. good fortune in the Work.

Off to Cameron, LA.
Which was totally detroyed & flattened by Katrina's ugly sister RITA. No one seems to remember her, but she removed several small towns from the map.
Cameron was left with only ONE building standing, the Court house.
Insurance companies are just now freeing up money to start rebuilding.
We got some contracts to restore power to several businesses, warehouses & dock facilities etc'.
I'm leaving in a few minutes, and will be back on line in a couple of weeks. I'll be staying down there, because a 6 to 6 curfew is still in effect, and I don't want to drive 90 miles each way every day.
Talk to you guys later.
Brian.

I've been there Brian
My mother in law is from Lake Charles. You're sort of living history down there. People will talk about it for years. Work hard, sleep good. Kevin0 -
I lived in Lake Charles
for 25 yr's before moving to "the country". It's so quiet out here I can hear my pulse in my ears :O)
Now I'm off to work in a ghost town.
Later.

Godspeed, Brian
Keep us posted. Work such as you are about to undertake may take a toll on one emotionally, I can only imagine.
Keep in touch if you can.
Speaking of Lake Charles, I still have my "Cooking With Boozoo and Leona" apron, courtesy of the late Boozoo Chavis and his bride. Great trip.

Best of luck, Brian!
We all know what good work you're capable of, so stay safe, stay well-rested, and stay well-fed! All the best rebuilding the town, may the good memories return.0 -
It's not pretty
I was in New Orleans and Mississippi two months after Katrina and was awestruck by the devastation. I'm going back again this summer to report on some Habitat for Homes that are being equipped with Bryant HVAC equipment. To be honest, I'd prefer to spend my whole summer there helping people. If I didn't have my family that is exactly what I'd be doing. Just spending a few days there made me feel even more empathy for these people who have lost everything. Please keep them in your prayers and help out if and when you can.
And thanks, Brian, for being such a good humanitarian.0
