Dont trust that existing guage. Get a temp probe on the supply to see if the thing is accurate. Aslo are you sure the pump is moving the water?

boiler noises
I have a customer who has a weil-mclain water boiler which makes noises. They complain of banging noises coming from the boiler which vibrates up through the pipes into the living spaces and there also is a sound like bubbling in the boiler once the burners shut down (nat. gas). The bubbling noise quickly dies down. The bubbling noise almost sounds like the water is boiling but the water temp is about 180 degrees. I used KEK boiler cleaner thinking that it was a mineral/scale build up problem. It does not seem to have worked. Any clues on the banging? The noise does not appear to be from the pipes but rather from the boiler.0
