Outdoor reset on Ultra

The discussion on adjusting the parameters for the outdoor reset control for the W/M Ultra has been very helpful to me (thanks,Floyd,Reynz,Chris,Mike T and others!).

I have noticed that many people have raised the parameter 5 and 10 settings from 70 to 100. This is the low temp boiler setpoint for the outdoor reset curve. By raising it they have flattened out the curve.

Can anyone explain why this is better? Is it a baseboard only thing (I'm radiant floor)?

It seems to me that raising the low temp setpoint pulls you out of condensing mode very quickly. Is it that modulation is better and a much more important factor in efficiency?

Again I thank you all for being the "plume" of info we all generate a little more energy from.
