too much venting?

In a single pipe steam system, can you have too large a main vent? I was going to use a gorton #2 toward the end of the main where an old raidiator used to branch off from (only a capped t now)and then put a smaller vent where the current vent is at the end of the dry return. I have about 40 or so feet of 2.5 inch main that then tuns into a 1.5 inch dry return for about 25 feet. Thanks for the advice.

If that capped Tee
was the last radiator on the main, just put your Gorton there. Cap the vent connection on the dry return since it's not needed.

But....
How about corrosion issues of not venting all the air in the mains? I've had this question for a long time about not venting beyond the last radiator.

The steam would never get past the vent location
so I think it shouldn't be a problem, unless you try to push the steam farther by raising the pressure.
