Does it make sense that a Aprilaire 350 humidifier mounted on the first floor of a house humidify the second floor as well? Wouldn't a unit be needed for each floor?

It depends on the size of the home, one unit will affect the whole house but less further away. If I get 30% rise in the room with the humidifier 40 ft away I might get 15%. Moisture absorbes in walls and travels easily with air circulation. This is the whole house unit? Another example , in summer I dehumifify the basement 20-30%, upstairs it is automaticly lowered 10-15% with no air circulating. One usualy does it unless the house is 4000 sq ft +0
