Yes I,m oversized by about 40% ...Good Eyes for seeing this,Panels are 30 deg off tru south and tilt is 55 deg for my latitude of 45 deg N. I wanted the extra BTU,s in the spring and fall for supplimental heating that I do not have in place yet. Panels heat great at any outdoor temp of course...Also my above average water usage gives me quicker payback on such a system Paul

I am pretty new to solar heat but I think I understand it pretty well as a Raadient heetin eggspert. What do you recommend for the new salar guy?0 -
Sollmax
From siliconsolar.com. They have e(?)acuated tubes and flats. Selling the e-tubes for ~$600 for 20 tubes which is very reasonable compared to other vendors.0 -
When I shopped around
for plate type I narrowed down to Solahart by Rheem/ Rudd, Heliodyne, and Chromagen.
All things considered price, shipping, availability, etc I went with Chromagen. I really like the clean glazing attachment

I narrowed down
to these 3 choices for plate type. www.heliodyne.com www.solahart.com and www.chromagen.biz
I went with Chromagen. Price, shipping, availability, and quality worked out best.

I have had best luck with Heliodyne panels,,,,, VERY nice , good o-ring unions, no need to melt rubber to solder fittings been in business through thick and thin etc.0 -
Nice to hear Heliodyne is still going
I was doing a LOT of their equipment back in late 70's early 80's. Don't know if the ownership/product is the same but they were a very good vendor in those days!0 -
We've had good luck with the Solamax Brand of Evacuated Tubes by Thermomax. A little better price than the Mazdon. I feel Evacuated tube is a good choice for our foggy weather here. Leaves more room on the roof for the solar electric when compared to using Flat Plates.
