Best all around heating option?

I want to install a heat source for domestic water and radiant floor heating which is the best all around option. I have been looking into propane, but now with the increase in gas prices, I am not sure about this anymore. I was thinking about electric and geothermal heat pumps. If I put in an electric heater or propane, I would look into tieing in an outdoor wood furnace in the future. What is your perspective?
